February 22, 2024 Pints For Pollinators

Spring Wildflowers on Tap at February Pints for Pollinators

With the end of February comes the beginning of ephemeral wildflower season in the Foothills. They will be on full display at favorite hiking trails like Pearson’s Falls, Twin Bridges, F.E.N.C.E. and the Green River Game Lands, among many others.

If spring ephemeral wildflowers are your thing, you are invited to come off the trail and join fellow wildflower enthusiasts at Pints for Pollinators on February 22, 6-8 p.m., at Bodega Noir. Steve Pettis, Henderson County extension agent and host of “Gardening in the Mountains” radio show and podcast, will headline the gathering with a presentation on the wonders of our local ephemerals. Corrie Woods, Gardening for Life Project (GFLP) team leader, will open the night with a short talk on the importance of planting early blooming native plants to support pollinators.

More information about area trails on land protected by Conserving Carolina is available on their website under the Get Outside tab.

Pints for Pollinators is brought to you by the team at GFLP and is inspired by the international Pint of Science series. These are short talks followed by question-and-answer sessions in an informal setting.

Bodega Noir is a wine bar and event space located at 102 W. Coleman Street, Landrum, S.C. Beer, wine and refreshments will be available for purchase.

No registration is necessary for this highly educational yet very social event.
