Discover the Magic of Flower Moon Nursery
“The striking thing about Flower Moon is the quality of their plants. They are consistently robust and they take off once they are tucked into my garden. Too, I love the hard-to-find species they frequently bring to the GFLP sales.”
Flower Moon Nursery has quickly become a regional favorite among gardeners and conservationists alike for its high-quality native plants that are both beautiful and ecologically impactful.
A Nursery With Heart and Roots
Founded in 2022 by Amanda Taylor, Flower Moon Nursery is located near Morganton, North Carolina. With a deep horticultural background, including a bachelor’s and master’s degree in horticulture plus more than a decade working with the nursery and greenhouse industry, Amanda laid the foundation for a nursery that blends scientific know-how with a genuine love for native flora.
More than a business, Flower Moon Nursery is a celebration of the native plant life that surrounds us—plants that help create habitat, support wildlife, and bring seasonal joy to every garden.
Flower Moon Nursery focuses primarily on native species that are perfectly suited to our regional landscapes and wildlife needs. Their inventory spans trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, and ferns—all propagated with care, many from seed and cuttings sourced in Western North Carolina.
Highlights From Their Plant Selection:
Native Deciduous Azaleas – Including varieties like Flame Azalea (Rhododendron calendulaceum) and Cumberland Azalea (Rhododendron cumberlandense).
Classic Shrubs for Habitat – Plants such as Carolina Allspice (Calycanthus floridus), Spicebush (Lindera benzoin), and Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis).
Perennials & Grasses – From swamp milkweed and butterfly milkweed to purple coneflower, cardinal flower, and little bluestem grass, their offerings provide ecological function alongside garden beauty.
